Massage is an active remedial method. Its nature consists in applying of measured mechanical irritations on the uncovered body of a patient with different special systematic methods carried out with a hand of a massager or by means of special devices.
In getting a massage first of all the numerous nerve receptors put in various layers of the skin and bound with periostil and vegetative system are exposed to influence. In this case there is a first stage of transformation of the mechanical energy of massage movements in the energy of the nerve excitation which gives rise to a complex chain of reflex reactions.
The physiological effect of massage on the organism can be divided into three factors: homeopathic, neuro-reflectory and humoral.
Irritations from the skin receptors, being summarised in getting massage influence on the deep lying tissues and organs with irritating the receptors put in tendons, joints, ligaments, fascias, muscles, with irritating the receptors of vascular walls and internals, are transmitted through sensitive ways to the central nervous system. Reaching the cerebral cortex, all these centripetal afferent impulses are synthesised in the general composite reaction of the organism which is shown in certain functional alterations in various organs and systems of the organism.
The structure and the character of these responses of the organism are different and depend on:
the functional state of the highest divisions of the central nervous system – correlations of the nervous processes, excitation or inhibition;
the functional state of the peripheral system of the devices of that receptor field which is exposed to massage influence;
the clinical manifestation of a disease;
the character and the methods of massage applying, especially on its dosage.
Such is the mechanism of the neural-reflectory effect of massage.
However, it would be incorrect to reduce the mechanism of massage influence to transferring of the mechanical irritations through the only neural-conducting ways. Except the neural factor, there is a humoral factor which takes part in the mechanism of the massage influence as well.

Did such things happen to you? You were going to the gym, but something got you attention, so much that the idea of training was completely knocked out of your head. Then you bethink, curse yourself, but it is too late to go to the gym. Do you think it is due to the lack of motivation? No, the reason may be quite different. According to the American psychiatrists, a vast number of people on the planet suffer from the syndrome of impaired attention. These people are addicted to the first available business, neglecting the important, they do not have patience to listen to others, they constantly interrupt everybody, they hate to work under supervision, they easily become despondent and distracted … Initially, the scientists believed that the syndrome of impaired attention is rooted in the dysfunctional family environments. However, this assumption was not confirmed. Today specialists have dozens of hypotheses: from the abundance of daily stress to the environmental toxins poisoning upsetting the brain. However, none of them has yet received any decisive confirmation. In any case, the scientists were able to establish that the reason for the syndrome is often a chronic over-psyche.
This over-psyche is possibly a consequence of the over-stress, denormalization of labor and rest, profound physical fatigue, depression and drug abuse … All of these root causes are easy to remove. If you find the symptoms of the syndrome of impaired attention, be sure to consult a doctor. The fact is that this syndrome does not give the possibility to train carefully and consistently. Your efforts in the gym can turn into a waste of time.
Test yourself
Here are the symptoms of impaired attention. If you find yourself in the majority of them refer to a therapist.
